Tanjung Tuan Yang Unik

Greetings to all my blog readers. This time, I would like to share my experience of hiking to the lighthouse at Tanjung Tuan, Melaka. It is located to the south of Port Dickson. It is the only beach that is popular among city dwellers. Tanjung Tuan is also known as Cape Rachado (a name given by the Portuguese).
Mengikut fakta sejarah, sekitar tahun 1606, Pantai Tanjung Tuan terkenal seebagai kawasan pertempuran tentera laut.
This area has been officially designated as a permanent forest reserve and a wildlife and bird sanctuary. It serves as a park for birdwatching, especially during migration seasons, and is widely recognised as a stopover site for migratory birds traveling from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere, particularly the "Honey Buzzards." Typically, birds passing through this route can be observed during the months of September and March each year, including species such as "Swifts," "Hawks," and Eagles.

This is the gateway for entering Tanjung Tuan

This is the usual path—cars are permitted to pass through here. However, for those seeking more of a challenge, there’s a designated trail leading to the Tanjung Tuan lighthouse… (I didn’t take it as my attire wasn’t suitable).

But first, you’ll have to climb these stairs… Not nearly as many as the ones at Batu Caves though!

Take a closer look at the tower... Unfortunately, entry is not allowed. I could only capture photos from the surrounding exterior.

The lighthouse is surrounded by a variety of herbal plants, creating a picturesque and serene atmosphere.

This, on the other hand, is the breathtaking view of the vast sea in the Strait of Malacca. As I mentioned earlier, this was a naval battleground. If you look closely, you can spot trading vessels passing through. It is interesting to imagine the potential economic benefits of setting up a toll here.

Alamak! Curamnya! Ketinggiannya? Tak ler tinggi sangat Cuma lebih kurang 300 Meter aje… tapi kecutaman dan likunya membuatkan aku naik semput kat sini….so…?
Blimey! It’s so steep! The height? Not particularly high, only about 300 metres… but the sheer incline and winding twists left me feeling rather breathless here… so, there you go.

I elected to rest here temporarily, however, there was an excessive presence of mosquitoes.

Meanwhile, I also had the chance to read some information available here.

I continued my leisurely stroll, descending towards the beach to head to Pulau Intan.

There are so many peculiar-looking trees in this forest… especially the Tembusu tree—it almost seems alive!

This is the only "building" found on Pulau Intan

The island of Pulau Intan is surrounded by numerous ancient coral stones!

After resting here for about two hours, it was finally time to face a tougher challenge… Yes, climbing back up the same trail to the lighthouse. Oh dear… it was absolutely exhausting! While it took me 45 minutes to descend, climbing back up took nearly an hour and a half… Totally drained!
To cut a long story short, I quickly returned to the resort I had rented not far from the lighthouse.

Ini dia resortnya….Ilham Resort.
Here it is, the resort… Ilham Resort.

Bagus gak, dekat dan kemudahan semua ada. Harga pun berpatutan
The resort is well-situated, well-equipped and reasonably priced.

Alright, that's all about my adventure at Tanjung Tuan. Do visit if you have the time—it's truly an enjoyable experience. Tanjung Tuan will always remain a cherished memory
